Paris Baguette’s latest outlet is a sprawling duplex space
Double the floor space, double the treats. Paris Baguette has opened its largest, two-storey outlet at 313@Somerset. Choose to dine alfresco on the first floor, which provides a great spot to people-watch, or head up to the second storey that offers a peek into the open kitchen where sweet treats and fresh bakes are made. Don’t miss the outlet-exclusive creation: a line-up of refreshing beer-based cocktails ($11/$13), made with coffee or various tea infusions. Our favourites: the Hadong Green Tea Crystal, with green grapes and fresh mint; and the elegant Yong Earl Grey Crystal which comes garnished with blueberries – all concocted with a base of Tiger Crystal Beer.
You can now enjoy instant hot pot for one
Steamboat meals are usually enjoyed in a big group setting. But for the solo diners craving for a bubbling hot pot meal, 7-Eleven’s latest creation has you covered. Just in time for Lunar New Year, the convenience store has released three instant hot pot meals ($4.80) that need just minutes in the microwave. Flavours include mala chicken, complete with luncheon meat slices, corn, spinach, black fungus, lotus root, tofu, cabbage, and vermicelli; the tomato seafood with prawns, crab stick, enoki mushrooms; and herbal chicken topped with carrots, wolfberries, chicken thigh, carrots, and more. Taste-wise, you won’t get the same robust soup that you’ll find in steamboat restaurants, but the convenience is perfect when the sudden craving hits.
